Betfred League One returns this weekend, and we’re into Round 2 of the competition...
Table toppers Rochdale host Cornwall and will be looking to make it two wins from two.
The Hornets registered a resounding 44-0 victory over Keighley Cougars in their opening match – a sensational performance from Gary Thornton’s men, and an arguably unexpected scoreline.
Having laid down a marker early on, the Hornets will hope to continue this momentum heading into Round 2 with history in their favour, as it’s the hosts who have won all five of their previous home meetings with the Choughs.
Meanwhile, it’s always a close contest between Midlands Hurricanes and Workington Town. Their last meeting saw the Hurricanes pip a 24-22 victory at the Alexander Stadium back in September.
They will meet there again this weekend, but who will claim the two points?
League One action returns to Goole for Round 2 as they take on Dewsbury Rams. Both are searching for their first win after narrow losses in the first round.
Then, can Keighley Cougars bounce back from a disappointing Round 1? They face a lengthy trip to Cumbria to play Whitehaven, a side who will also be fired up to try and get their first win.
Elsewhere, Newcastle Thunder will kickstart their 2025 campaign Sunday with a home tie against Swinton Lions.
Thunder have won the last three meetings with the Lions – although they haven’t faced each other since July 2023, so anything could happen…
